Mark’s Legacy

FRIENDS ON FACEBOOK CELEBRATE THE LEGACY OF MARK YARNELL

Travelling home from Kelowna after celebrating the life of my dear friend, Mark Yarnell. My heart will never be the same. Missing you big time! XO – Stacey Todd Clark

One of network marketing’s legends, one of our staunchest supporters, a true friend and my most appreciated intellectually stimulating and eclectically informed buddies, Mark B Yarnell shucked off his mortal coil and passed on through to the other side.

Mark cherished life and imparted grace with every encounter. Always impish and frequently delightful, he had an uncanny knack for making us feel special while inspiring us to stretch our self-imposed limitations to create the best version of our future selves.

While convention suggests a benediction including both rest and peace, somehow I picture Mark bouncing from cloud to cloud regaling the spirits with sidesplitting tales from his days on earth… AND down here are earth we will miss him dearly!”
–Chris Gross, Networking Times

Mark was an inspiration and perhaps the only man in the world who never criticized me and was always willing to help me with open arms. A true father figure I never had. I’m not going to miss his wisdom and teachings because they are everywhere in his blogs, books and CD’s. I’m going to miss the good laugh, the uplifting spirit and the passion and enthusiasm, which was so contagious. The wisdom was a bonus; our friendship was priceless. My only regret is that we never shared a good laugh in person. Thank you Mark B Yarnell. -Behzad Shukrakhuda

TODAY, THE WORLD IS A BIT DARKER…
For the last 3 years, every 3 to 4 weeks, I had the pleasure of spending an hour on the phone with Mark Yarnell. I looked forward to these conversations with delight, and I always finished the call by telling him how grateful I was for his friendship.

Today, Mark has left us. And although I am devastated by the loss, it’s impossible for me to deny that mostly I feel incredibly blessed for the time that I did have with this wondrous individual. It wasn’t enough, and I already miss him. My heart is heavy for his lovely wife Valerie. Out of my deep respect for her, and my great love for Mark, I thought it appropriate to list here what I loved most about my relationship with him:

1. Laughter. He always cracked me up with hilarious jokes. He had an irreverent sense of humor.

2. His voice mail messages. When he didn’t answer the phone, he would have a message that was both thought provoking and funny, and it was NEVER the same message twice.

3. Books. I’ve read many books because of Mark. He always had a new recommendation, and it was always something extremely fascinating that I never would have read without him sharing it.

4. MOST IMPORTANTLY, Mentorship. No matter what my state of mind I was in when I got on the phone with Mark, by the time we were finished talking, I was filled with confidence in myself and what I do. He could always speak to me in a way that powerfully dispelled my fears, doubts and frustrations, and replace them with curiosity and renewed excitement.

I’m very clear that when we lose someone, we primarily mourn for ourselves, having to go on living without them. Whatever rewards the afterlife hold for us, I’m sure Mark is enjoying all of them now, having earned it.

I personally know of no one who has impacted and influenced more people positively. So, for myself, I say “Goodbye Mark. I will miss you terribly, and feel your absence keenly. You brought tremendous value, knowledge and depth to my life, and as a friend and mentor, you will not be easily or quickly replaced.” Or, to put it as I know Mark would have, “So long, Buddy. –John Lombardo

I’ve got so much respect for Mark Yarnell and Valerie Bates. They’ve inspired so many. Valerie called me last night to let me know. Like most in Qivana, he was family to me. I spent the night mourning and woke up today and called his cell just to hear his voicemail message. That message put a smile on my face just like most interactions with him. I’ll probably do it again tomorrow. I didn’t leave a message, but I do know I’ll get a reply as I live my life. I’ve known Mark for just five years.
